Tamariu is one of the few towns on the Costa Brava that boasts and enjoys almost virgin lands. It is a town located near Palafrugell.
This location has lush vegetation and a coastline with several coves of crystal-clear and deep waters. Moreover, if we get lost in this picturesque village, we will notice the narrow alleys that characterize this old fishing town on the Costa Brava.
Beaches and coves
One of the main attractions of the town is its beaches and coves, formed by pebble sand or coarse-grain sand. While walking along the Camí de Ronda (coastal path) from Calella de Palafrugell to Llafranc, you can discover Cala Aigua Xelida, Cala dels Lliris, or Cala Pedrosa, the latter made up of pebbles.
On the other hand, there are coves that can only be accessed by sea, such as Cala Marquesa or Cala de Gens, also known as El Cau. These coves are perfect for those seeking peace and quiet, as tourist crowds are practically nonexistent.
Activities of Tamariu
With its aquatic scenery, Tamariu offers the chance to admire its incredible marine life through activities such as scuba diving and snorkelling.
Another interesting activity is kayaking, which allows you to discover new spots such as the Gispert Cave, the largest sea cave on the Costa Brava.
In this town, not only sea lovers are welcome; hiking enthusiasts can also enjoy the different routes along the Camí de Ronda (coastal path). Additionally, this trail can also be explored by bicycle.
Finally, we also suggest enjoying the views of Tamariu from another perspective; more specifically, from the sky on a hot air balloon ride.
