Christmas brings with it a message of joy and, above all, universal peace. But it also brings family reunions, social commitments, lunches, dinners and last minute shopping that end up producing more stress and anxiety than anything else.
We have selected some beaches and coves of the Costa Brava full of peace and tranquility that can help you recharge your batteries and make you carry better the physical and mental fatigue that usually goes hand in hand with these holidays.
Fonollera beach (Torroella de Montgrí).
In the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí you will find one of the quietest corners of the Costa Brava: Fonollera Beach, also known as Gola del Ter.
This beach is an area of great natural interest where the Ter river flows into several lagoons.
It is very long (it is no more and no less than 1300 meters long), its waters are deep and its sand is fine and golden.
Visit this idyllic place little frequented and with few houses around where the sunrises are impressive and the views of the Medes Islands are even better.

Cala Estreta (Palamós).
Walking about half an hour from the beach of Es Castell and taking the coastal path north towards Cap Roig, you will reach Cala Estreta.
This secluded unspoiled beach surrounded by cliffs is marked by two very visible rocky outcrops. One of them is “La Roja” which divides the beach in two. Following the other ledge you will end up at Cala d’en Remendón from where you can make out some islets whose shape is reminiscent of a sleeping dragon.
Very close to here you will appreciate a small archipelago called “Illes Formigues”, four rocks without vegetation that are completely covered by the sea every time the tide rises.
Discover this beautiful natural environment ideal for relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Cala dels Frares (Lloret de Mar).
If there is a perfect cove where you can get lost and feel like you are in another world, that is Cala del Frares.
It is located at the foot of a cliff and to access it you must follow the coastal path that starts at Playa de Lloret and crosses Sa Caleta.
It is a cove without services and difficult to access so the influx of people is minimal whether spring, summer, autumn or winter. So if you fall in love with this place, it can become your corner of tranquility at any time of the year.
Let yourself be surprised by a set of rocks with particularly particular shapes that emerge from the sea. Once again the Costa Brava gives you the opportunity to capture one of the most beautiful places that can not miss in your Instagram.

Maset cove (Sant Feliu de Guíxols).
Through the coastal path that connects the beach of Sant Pol with Sant Feliu de Guíxols you will be very close to a small cove almost paradisiacal, the Cala Maset.
In order to get to the cove you will have to go down some steep stairs next to the road. You will see these indications on a sign that you will find on a stretch of the road.
Once you have arrived, you will see that you are in a small place of about 25 meters long and 15 meters wide where the sand is pink and where vegetation abounds, mostly pines and oaks.
Both for children and adults Cala Maset is a great choice. For the little ones because in bathing season the entrance to the sea is shallow and for adults because it is a good choice to find tranquility and rest.

Rustella Cove (Roses).
Located in the Natural Park of Cap del Creus, Cala Rustella is one of the most beautiful and little known coves of the Costa Brava.
You will have to make a descent of almost 90 meters and it will take you between 15-20 minutes to complete it.
It is somewhat difficult because the terrain is quite steep but think that this effort will be rewarded as you go down because the views until you reach the cove are incredible.
Once down you will have before you a small space of turquoise waters surrounded by lush pine trees. A beautiful landscape to melt in it and fill you with the energy that transmits the nature of our coast.

It is not easy to get to these places we have told you about, but we assure you that when you step on them you will feel a great sense of calm and harmony. Relax, focus and then… keep on enjoying Christmas!
