Walk around the Vila Vella
We recommend starting your walk around the medieval walls along the Passeig de la Vila Vella (Promenade of the Old Town).. This area is an icon of the town and an essential place to visit. You will easily recognise it by its medieval walls, built between the 12th and 14th centuries.
In Vila Vella, you will find the Castle of Tossa de Mar, a well-known fortress built between the 12th and 14th centuries, and the only medieval fortification still standing on the entire Catalan coast.
Without a doubt, strolling through these streets will take you back in time. You will also find some of the town’s most charming and renowned restaurants, as well as small boutiques selling decoration items and cool clothes.

To finish this wonderful day, we recommend having a drink with the best views of Tossa de Mar at the lighthouse.. It is located at the highest point of the wall and is well worth a visit.
This 10-metre-high lighthouse stands 70 metres above sea level, still in operation today, and offers stunning views over the whole town. We encourage you to arrive just as the sun starts to set because the sunset and coastal views are spectacular.
