Titled “La festa catalana” (The Catalan Party) is to show the richness and vitality of the Catalan culture. Every Saturday until 15th September at 19.30, the Square of the Cathedral space will become a fixed schedule of performances of traditional and popular culture, especially aimed for tourists visiting Barcelona.
A multilingual voiceover will guide the viewer through the various shows for tourists visiting the city during the spring and summer to enjoy the various manifestations of popular culture, such as “castells” (human castles), “gegants i capgrossos” (giants and Big-heads), sardanas and “ball de bastons” (stick dance). Each day, a «colla»(gang) in the city will host two «colles» of the rest of Catalonia. Furthermore, every Saturday at 18.00h a Sardanas exhibition is held at the Cathedral Avenue.
