The Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya has awarded Hotel Oasis Park with the Diploma of Tourism of Catalonia in the framework of the Tourism Awards 2011 which aim to rewarding individuals and organizations that have promoted and fomented tourism in Catalonia.
The awards fall into the categories of Medal of Honor of Tourism and Medal of Tourism of the Generalitat and the Touristic Badge of Honor of Catalunya and Tourist Diploma of Catalunya. These are a tribute to corporations, institutions, organizations or institutions, whether public or private, that have stood out for its activity in promoting tourism in Catalonia. In this regard, the Government has awarded Oasis Park Hotel in Lloret de Mar, which has made a continuous effort to adapt to new demands of the touristic sector.
The Oasis Park Hotel started business in 1970. At that time, the construction of the Oasis Park was an act with certain significance: it was the largest hotel built in the area and it’s facilities available at the time were infrequent (disco, swimming pool, mini golf, hairdresser, medical clinic, etc).
At present the Hotel Oasis Park offers 428 rooms, 10 apartments 2 / 4 and 19 Junior Suites, these opened two seasons ago and equipped with large terraces with private Jacuzzi and a high level of quality. Facilities include two swimming pools (one indoor and warmed), mini club, fitness area, playground, 50 parking spaces, meeting rooms, two bars, etc. It holds the rank of four stars.
Since 2004 is ISO 9001:2000 quality certified and since 2010 the ISO 14001 certification on the environment.
The man behind the success of El Bulli with Ferran Adrià, Juli Solà, has received the Medal of Honor for his contribution to tourism «reputation, reputation and international projection of Catalan cuisine.»
At the ceremony of Catalunya Tourism Awards 2011, the President of the Generalitat, Artur Mas, and to a large group of industry representatives, has warned of «responsibility» that is leading the economy in the current situation in the few sectors which are able to create employment.
Mas has challenged the touristic sector to take advantage of that Catalonia is «fashionable» to attract visitors and also contribute to generating wealth and employment to exit the crisis.
