Ironman 70.3 Barcelona

This weekend is the Ironman 2014 Barcelona- Calella.

Calella is the perfect place for this event just 50 km away from the city of Barcelona. Calella is becoming a triathlon reference city for holding two Ironman competitions that score for the Triathlon World Championship.

Initially, it should be held the Challenge- Calella, but after Tritlón Sport was absorbed by World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), it is called Ironman Barcelona-Calella. WTC is the responsible for organizing and managing the Ironman Barcelona- Calella.

Ironman comprises 3.86 km. swimming, 180 km. cycling and 42.2 km. of running (marathon). The maximum time allowed is 17 hours and the average is 12 hours. Andreas Raelert holds the actual record with a time of 7:41:33.
