The Ronda Walkroad which borders between S’Agaró and the sea is a huge walk with no bars nor shops, where the only music you can hear are the sea waves breaking and the whistling of the trees. A path around the complex designed by Rafael Massó, disciple of Gaudí, which has always been associated with luxury on the Costa Brava. S’Agaró is one of the first urbanized areas of the coast, at the beginning of the twentieth century, when Catalan bourgeois families arrived seeking the benefits of the sea.
This easy route, of great beauty, and in the noble area of the Costa Brava, is considered one of the most beautiful and now also one of the most adapted so that all users can walk without any problem with the new lift, which allows people with disabilities to the most interesting part.
Leaving the S’Agaró Mar Hotel **** and down the Camí de la Caleta we are at the beach of Sant Pol, where you will see a sign indicating upright the way to go to get to Platja d’Aro by the GR92 trail. From here, we walk north direction by the beach until the road crosses a transverse timbers passing, leaving on the left the buildings of the Nautic Base and on the right, a restored dune area.
Passing Sant Pol baths, we found the entrance to the urbanization of S’Agaró. The road veers to the right, between a fence and the beach sand. Then we climb some stairs that brings us to the viewpoint of Punta de Pau, a magnificent balcony that overlooks the beach of Sant Pol.
The road is full of bourgeois mansions, a scenario worthy of a movie. Also, the walk is accompanied by many trees and planters. We are surprised to see how the houses seemed to have had access to the beach by boat. If you look under the path, there are plenty of old shippers that seems connected to the old stairs and doors that gave access to the houses.
Eventually, we arrive at Cala Pedrosa. We follow the beach and up to the lookout, dominated by a pavilion facing previous beach. The wide path brings us to the steps of Sa Conca, which allows us to Cala dels Eriços.
If you want to enjoy the Camí de Ronda, we recommend you to stay at S’Agaró Mar Hotel. A perfect hotel for families due to its connecting rooms and also for couples seeking an idylic place on the Costa Brava.
